About us
Good things take time
In a world that moves too fast, there’s beauty in slowing down. Our horse-drawn carriage tours invite you to rediscover the art of unhurried travel — where every moment, every sip, and every story unfolds at its natural pace. With Emma and her Clydesdale, Duchess, leading the way, you’ll taste not just the wines, but the quiet rhythm of Marlborough itself.
Terroir
[ter' wa] noun
The complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate.
The characteristic taste and flavour imparted to a wine by the environment in which it is produced.
Emma Rossignol
A lifelong horsewoman and vineyard local, Emma founded Terroir & Us to share Marlborough’s landscape at its natural pace. Her background in the vineyards taught her that everything — soil, vines, people — thrives when given time and care. Guiding guests through that same rhythm is simply an extension of how she lives.
Duchess
The Clydesdale at the heart of every tour, Duchess is calm, steady, and quietly magnificent. When she's not working as plough horse she leads a beautiful traditional carriage with patience and a soft thud of hooves that seems to slow the world down.
